Sailor Moon is the latest anime-themed restaurant in Tokyo, and it’s getting five-star reviews. Known as ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: Shining Moon Tokyo’, the restaurant opened in August 2019.
While the menu boasts cute Sailor Moon-themed food and drinks, the main event is the cabaret show. Wannabe Sailor Guardians will love the show, which takes you to the magical world of Sailor Moon.

The Twilight Omelette resembles the Moon in a starry night sky, covered by a cloud.

Mars: Burning Hamburger
The Burning Hamburger resembles the fiery red landscape of Mars.

Sailor Moon Show and cast
Immerse yourself in the world of Sailor Moon with an incredible dance show featuring the Sailor Guardians. It’s a fantastic spectacle of choreography and dazzling special effects—a unique experience which is, without a doubt, the main event of the evening.
The intimate venue is perfect for viewing with elevated seating, so you’re never far away from the action. And don’t worry, you don’t need to understand Japanese to enjoy the show. The small amount of dialogue is translated into English and shown on a screen.
Sailor Moon Show cast
The Sailor Moon show features the main characters from the anime and manga in an all-female cast. Two different artists will rotate and play each role with three shows per night.
The Sailor Guardians wear their colourful, naval-inspired uniforms with magical brooches. Tuxedo Mask wears his classic black tuxedo and white shirt.
Sailor Moon: Usagi Tsukino
Sailor Moon is the main character and leader of the Sailor Guardians and fights for love and justice. As Usagi Tsukino, she starts as a crying girl but transforms into the strong guardian, Sailor Moon.
Sailor Mercury: Ami Mizuno
Sailor Mercury is a knowledgeable guardian who fights for water and wisdom. Before she transforms into Sailor Mercury, Ami Mizuno is quiet, intelligent, and has a rumoured IQ of 300.
Sailor Mars: Rei Hino
Sailor Mars is a mystic guardian who fights for fire and passion. Rei Hino is a Shinto priestess who can nullify evil using Shinto scrolls. As Sailor Mars, she’s known for her fortune-telling.
Sailor Jupiter: Makoto Kino
Sailor Jupiter is a powerful guardian who fights for courage and thunder. As Makoto Kino, she is good at cooking and sewing, but as Sailor Jupiter, she’s known for her hand-to-hand combat.
Sailor Venus: Minako Aino
Sailor Venus is a leader of warriors who fights for love and beauty. As Minako Aino, she dreams of becoming a singer and idol. As Sailor Venus, she acts as bodyguard and decoy for Sailor Moon.
Tuxedo Mask: Mamoru Chiba
Tuxedo Mask fights alongside the Sailor Guardians. As Mamoru Chiba, he shares a psychic connection with Usagi Tsukino, and they fall in love. Tuxedo Mask has superhuman qualities in battle.

The Shining Moon restaurant is located in Tokyo’s Azabu-Juban district. The full address is 1-10-10 Ajoule A, Azabu-Juban, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
It’s directly connected to Exit 5 of Azabu-Juban Station. Get to Azabu-Juban Station from the Toei Oedo Line and Tokyo Metro Namboku Line.
